    Info from website-------
This is a rare copy (only 1000 known to be printed) of a comic book caricature of a B-17 crew written and illustrated by Technical Sgt. M. Graem Yates, Radio-Operator of the Fortress "False-Courage" entitled "Combat Mission." Yates served with the 34th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force based at Mendlesham, and was part of Captain Richard Iverson's crew. In a telephone interview with Yates in 2006, Dr. Walter Powell learned that Sgt. Yates wrote this while serving as Public Relations Officer for the 34th BG and because of wartime restrictions on publications and use of paper in England, had to set up an appointment with the local member of Parliament from Ipswich in March 1945 in order to secure permission. Yates also noted that this publication started his career as a painter and publisher of prints of WWII combat aircraft. Yates finished his combat tour in April 1945. This copy is annotated in ink with the names of some of the crew of Lt. James R. Addison of the 334th Squadron, 34th BG, which included Co-pilot Gilbert A. Jarvela, Navigator Otis M. Cohn, Bombardier Leland M. Boyd, Radio Operator Warren W. Ollmann, and Flight Engineer Bernard E. Coward. A biographical profile of Sgt. Yates is included. Good vintage condition.
